The Mercurial series explores themes of mood and inspiration. As a person living with Bipolar 2, I wanted to meditate on and capture the volatility of my creative process. So much of my time can be spent in the melancholy, unproductive rumination, yearning for the spark and the motivation. Yet, those fleeting moments of true, deep inspiration do so much to keep me going and creating. But which side is me? The answer is that it is all me. I rely on those fleeting days or weeks full of spark and connection as much as I rely on my rumination for editing, fine-tuning, and curating. These pieces seek to capture that wholeness, the entirety of my self and my process, as well as explore the divisions and friction of my differing moods and mentalities.
